Jaipur, Rajasthan, celebrated Diwali with an exceptional boost in tourism, attracting record-breaking numbers of visitors to its iconic sites. Over a four-day period, more than 25,000 tourists visited landmarks such as Nahargarh Fort, Hawa Mahal, and Amber Fort, reflecting a significant surge in footfall during the festive season.
The city’s vibrant Diwali celebrations, coupled with its timeless architecture and cultural allure, created a festive atmosphere that drew families and travelers eager to experience Jaipur’s unique charm. Visitors reveled in panoramic views from the forts, immersed themselves in the city’s history, and enjoyed the rich heritage of Rajasthan, which was amplified by Jaipur’s extensive tourism promotion efforts for the festival.
HE Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), expressed excitement about the emirate’s participation in WTM 2024, saying: “This year’s Diwali season has not only set new records for Jaipur but has also underscored the city’s prominence as a major tourism destination. With the support of local authorities and enhanced visitor experiences, Jaipur continues to captivate both domestic and international tourists with its blend of cultural heritage and hospitality.”
The surge in tourism has been a welcome boost for Jaipur, strengthening its position as a top travel destination in India and highlighting its enduring appeal during the festive season.
